Biography
Born in Larisa, Greece, Dimitris Pikros is an award-winning painter known for his Innovative Painting Manifesto by using bright colours with isolated forms to create perspective and movement without outlines.
He graduated from the School of Fine Arts at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki with First Class Honours in 2000, obtaining the top grades of the year and being selected to present his work at the Art Biennale Athens.
DPikros’s practice explores painting as a living, evolving dialogue between perception, presence, and transformation. Developed in 2000, his Innovative Painting Manifesto draws inspiration from the Bauhaus and the contemporary Japanese movement and artists such as Gary Hume and Francis Bacon. Through bright colours and isolated forms, he creates rhythm, movement, and perspective without outlines, evoking a balance between structure and intuition.
As an artist, DPikros focus on blending tradition with immersion by trying to invite people into innovative ways of seeing at painting. His work has evolved from bold performances in Barcelona to immersive explorations of identity in the painting here in London.
Since 2000, he has exhibited in solo and group shows across Europe, Japan, the United States, and the United Kingdom, and his works are included in both public and private collections worldwide.
At the height of his early success, DPikros withdrew from the art world to pursue a period of self-discovery through Zen, Meditation, and Shri Vivek Yoga practices under Shri Guruji Swami Vivekananda. This period gave birth to his Art-Mindset Methodology, which integrates inner awareness with creative practice.
He currently lives and works in London, continuing to explore the intersections of painting, performance, and sensory experience, while sharing his Art-Mindset approach as both an artist and creative tutor.
